Savannah’s Haunted Hotels and Inns

Haunted Hotels and Inns in Savannah

Haunted Hotels and Inns in Savannah

Haunted HotelCalled “the most paranormal city in America,” Savannah is a mecca for those seeking a haunted experience.  If you’re one of the many visitors interested in the haunted reputation of our city, you’ll want to check out these historic (and maybe haunted) B&Bs to make the most of your explorations.

Olde Harbour Inn:  Olde Harbour Inn is home to “Hank,” the most-often sited ghost among the inns in the Bed and Breakfasts of Savannah collection.  Guests have reported smelling cigar smoke when no smokers were present, experienced things moving around, seeing coins dropping on the floor and more.

East Bay Inn:  East Bay Inn was built in 1852, just steps away from the Savannah River. Guests here have often reported seeing the inn’s ghost, affectionately named “Charley” by the staff.

Eliza Thompson House:  The Eliza Thompson House has its share of ghostly sightings, including Confederate soldiers in an upstairs window and a young girl wearing a white dress in the hallway.

The Kehoe House:  Ghost stories and strange phenomena abound at the Kehoe House, which was built in 1892. From the tales of hauntings by ghosts of the Kehoe children, to tales from the years the Inn was a mortuary, the Kehoe House’s haunted reputation is often a talking-point on ghost tours.

The Marshall House:  The Marshall House opened in 1851, and has a history that’s very conducive to ghostly experiences. It’s been used as a hospital three times…twice during Savannah’s 19th century yellow fever epidemics and by the Union Army during the Civil War. Ghosts have been reported in the hallways and in some rooms. This famously haunted hotel in Savannah has been featured several times on the Travel Channel’s haunted hotel programs and specials.

Whether your exploration of the haunts of Savannah lean in the direction a fun pub crawl, a spooky nighttime walking tour, or serious explorations of the supernatural, the place to stay in Savannah in October is in a historic B&B.
